Welcome! I am an international business professor and researcher on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with over 25 years of experience in education, international relations, trade and development.

My work includes:

  • Chair of Canada-ASEAN Initiatives at the York Centre for Asian Research, York University, promoting Canada-ASEAN security and economic cooperation within the Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy.
  • Director at the Canada Vietnam Society, and Professor of International Business at Centennial College, promoting community engagement and student support.

  • Political science lecturer at the University of Toronto;
  • Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council post-doctoral fellow at the Asian Institute, Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy;
  • Board member at the Organization for Women in International Trade – Toronto (OWIT-Toronto)
  • Research associate at the Centre for Southeast Asia Research at UBC; and
  • United Nations Development Programme consultant in Vietnam.

My academic background includes:

  • Honours BComm in Economics, Concordia University, 1995;
  • MA in Economics, University of British Columbia (UBC), 1996; and
  • PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies and Asian Research, UBC, 2004.
